Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, a Guided Research Program
(HEA ZQF & Program Accreditation in process for new admissions)
This is a Guided Research Program with an optional visit to the University campus in Lusaka for a one- to two-week full-time research workshop. Students from anywhere in the world can enrol in this program. The program requirements include research methodology & academic writing coursework, research writing & publication, research workshops and seminars, a research proposal, and the doctoral dissertation.
Research Supervisor & Mentor
The enrolled student’s research study shall be supervised by a qualified Research Supervisor who will be assigned by the School. The University also allows enrolled students to propose a suitable and qualified supervisor from their vicinity for their convenience, if needed. The School empanels such eligible supervisors as per University norms.
Online Live Classes
LIUTEBM School of International Programs conducts live online interactive classes on the School's digital platform on the coursework modules, research paper and dissertation writing. Students can attend these classes from anywhere.
Available Areas of Thesis
Any relevant area or subject of research is generally allowed, as long as the proposed topic is academically acceptable to the university and off-campus research is feasible on that subject. The University doesn't accept proposals in areas with laboratory involvement, medicine, dentistry, or any other similar fields. Students may write to the school for confirmation before submitting the application form and paying the application fees.
Entry Requirements & Duration
Master's Degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject from a recognised University / Institution. The duration of the Program is 3 years in normal entry and 2 years in lateral entry. Lateral entry is allowed for students with a Research degree at the master's level or those with a minimum of 5 years of academic experience or 8 years of executive experience following a Master's degree.
Selection & Acceptance: Qualifying in the research entrance test or interview & assessment of the acceptability of the research proposal/idea of research. This is conducted either online or face-to-face through a university-appointed Proctor.

This program is presently covered under the ASIC-UK accreditation of LIUTEBM SOIP.
