International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is an international network of visionary leaders and advocates of accessible education. Through our community, we connect global expertise to meet local challenges and achieve UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Equitable quality education for all.
The ICDE is one of the most prestigious organizations of distance and open learning providers with accredited institutions on board as its institutional membership. ICDE has been a consultative partner to UNESCO since 1967, and works with them in the service of international cooperation and development. This status grants ICDE’s members a voice at UNESCO, while obliging ICDE to acquaint its members with UNESCO programmes, activities and achievements pertaining to open and distance education. ICDE is also a member of the UNESCO Global Education Coalition.
